Marine Several years ago, following work for clients with investments in marine energy, POWER PROJECTS identified the sector as an emerging source of sustainable energy. POWER PROJECTS has advised three marine energy developers on investment opportunities in New Zealand. Our services range from assessments of the resource, including 'hot spot' identification, grid connection, fabrication, regulatory and logistical issues. Our involvement in, understanding and appreciation of, the rapidly evolving international marine energy sector has led to advisory and reporting roles for several government agencies and investment institutions. Today POWER PROJECTS is also a key collaborative partner in New Zealand’s largest marine energy research and development programme: the Wave Energy Technology – New Zealand (WET-NZ) programme. The programme is an integrated collaboration with the National Institute for Water and Atmospheric Research and Industrial Research Limited. This project is funded by the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology and aims to deliver a marine-tested prototype wave energy converter by July 2008. |
